Humacao - Quebradillas 83-80 Sixth defeat of league's leader Piratas (10-6) against fifth ranked Grises (6-8) 83-80 was the most important game of the last round. Grises looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American guard Gabriel Belardo (188-1989, college: FIU) orchestrated the victory by scoring 19 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. International center Timajh Parker-Rivera (202-1994, college: Towson) contributed with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Belardo is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Grises players scored in double figures. Grises' coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. The former international point guard Gary Browne (185-1993, college: WVU) replied with 26 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists and American forward Demetrius Treadwell (201-1991, college: Akron) added 16 points and 11 rebounds in the effort for Piratas. Grises maintains fifth position with 6-8 record. Piratas at the other side dropped to the second place with six games lost. They share the position with Arecibo. They were replaced at the leadership position by Ponce. Piratas will play next round against strong Cariduros trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Grises will try to continue on its current victory against third ranked Cangrejeros in Santurce. American forward Rondae Hollis-Jefferson (201-1995, college: Arizona) notched 24 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 blocks to lead the effort and the other American import guard Nate Mason (188-1995, college: Minnesota) supported him with 21 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. Even a double-double of 23 points and 12 rebounds (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field) by Nigerian-American power forward Chinemelu Elonu (206-1987, college: Texas A&M) did not help to save the game for Capitanes. Naturalized U.S. Virgin Islands point guard Walter Hodge (183-1986, college: Florida) added 18 points for the guests. Four Capitanes players scored in double figures.
